Deep-fried Shrimps with Taro Recipe

Ingredients:

4 tbsp

flour
taro (about 1 1/2 lb)
salt
MSG
lard
large shrimps
black pepper
cornstarch
pan fried oil

Directions:

  1. Beat 6 tbsp boiling water into 4 tbsp flour, mix thoroughly.

  2. Remove the peel of taro and cut into slices, steam about 30 minutes, then press as paste while hot, add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp MSG, 1/8 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp cornstarch, mix well.

  3. Clean shrimps, drain and dry, add 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp MSG, 1/8 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp cornstarch, mix well.

  4. Wrap shrimps with seasoning flour paste (step 2), but leave the tail to look like a guitar.

 

Methods:

  1. Heat up oil in a pan, place guitar shrimps into the pan, deep-fry till golden brown and remove.

  2. Garnish with lettuce and red flowers between shrimps.
