Cantonese Roast Pork Recipe

Ingredients:

1 1/3 lb
2 cloves
1/2 tbsp
5 tbsp
2
2 tbsp
2 tbsp
1/4 tsp

lean pork (hind leg)
garlic
salt
sugar
scallions
white soy sauce
sherry (wine)
five-spices powder
a dash red pigment

Directions:

  1. Peel garlic, then crush.

  2. Cut pork into long strips. Marinate with 1/2 tbsp salt, 5 tbsp sugar, garlic, scallion, soy sauce, sherry, five-spices powder and red pigment in soup bowl, mix evenly, then set aside for 1 hour.

Methods:

  1. Heat oven, hang the pork on the oven rack, which has been marinated, then roast at 400 oF - 450 oF till golden brown (about 25 minutes) and serve.

 

Notes: Buy lean pork hind leg (the rate is 80% lean pork to 20% fat pork).
