winter melon
dried black mushrooms
Chinese ham
scallop
chicken
scallions
ginger

Directions:
-
Peel winter melon and cut into
pieces (about 1 3/8 inches long and wide and 3/4
inch thick).

Soak dried black mushrooms in
warm water, remove stem, split large ones.

Steam ham and scallop
separately. Slice ham. Tear scallop into shreds.

Cut chicken into bite-sized
pieces, blanch in boiling water to remove blood.

Methods:

Place all the ingredients in
stewing pan, add sectioned scallion, ginger, 6
cup water, 1 tsp salt, 1 1/2 tsp MSG, then
simmer about 1 hour and serve.
Notes:
-
This dish is served best in
summertime.
-
Although winter melon is
inexpensive, it has the function in Chinese
medicine of reducing fever.
