Sweet New Year's Cake Recipe Traditional Chinese New Year

Ingredients:

glutinous rice
sugar
large piece cellophane
Method:
Soak glutinous
rice over night, add water and puree. Pour in a
muslin bag and fasten. Press bag to squeeze out
excess water to form a dough.
Blend in half quantity of sugar
until it turns sticky, then fold in the
remaining sugar. Stir to batter consistency.
Brush cellophane with oil and
line bottom of steaming basket. Pour in batter.
Steam for 3 1/2 hours. Ready to serve. (stir fry
the pudding with oil or brown before serving)
