Y
Yam Bean - Known as jicama in the Americas, where it originated, this crunchy, mild tuber has a crisp white interior and biege skin which peel off easily. It taste like a potato and apple cross. Excellent raw with a spicy dip. Can be cooked.

Yokan - A Japanese sweet, similar to Turkish Delight, made from adzuki bean jam and agar-agar.

Yunnan Ham- A smoked salted ham used mainly as a seasoning. Usually sold in tins.
