Ingredients

Main:

Special sauce:
2 tbsp
2 tbsp
1 tbsp
2 tsp
1 tsp


pineapple
cucumbers
mengkuang (sweet turnip or yam bean)
small green mangoes
buah klondong (Cantonese: pak lam)
starfruits
tau kua (semi-hard bean curds)


hoi sin sauce
hae ko (black prawn paste)
sugar
chili paste
belacan powder
 

 

 

 

 

Method:

  1. Remove skin, eyes and core of pineapple. Cut into 8 lengthwise and slice coarsely.

  2. Cut cucumbers and wedges.

  3. Peel mengkuang (sweet turnip or yam bean) and cut into wedges.

  4. Seed mangoes and slice coarsely.

  5. Cut buah klondong into wedges.

  6. Slice star fruits coarsely.

  7. Slice coarsely raw semi-hard bean curds.

  8. Prepare special sauce by mixing thoroughly all ingredients.

  9. To serve, mix all main ingredients with special sauce. Stir well. It must be eaten at once or else it will become waterly.
