Mint Sambal Recipe

Ingredients:

450 g
112 g
112 g
1 tbsp
1tsp
1 tbsp
1 tbsp
1/4 tsp

dehydrated mint
yellow split lentils
dried chilies
tamarind water
mustard seeds
oil
salt
asafetida

Method:

  1. Fry lentils and chilies until lentils are golden brown. Add salt.

  2. Sauté mustard seeds and asafetida in a little oil and keep aside.

  3. liquidize or grind lentils, chilies and salt.

  4. Roast mint on a dry pan for a few minutes. Add to the lentil mixture and grind or liquidize again.

  5. Add tamarind water just before removing the ingredients from the liquidizer.

  6. Remove the ground ingredients and mix with the mustard seeds and asafetida.

Note : This will keep for a month under refrigerator.
