Method:

Heat oil in pan
and sauté onion, garlic, chilies, cloves, cumin,
ginger and turmeric. Do not burn the mixture.

Dice beef and add to spices
together with salt. Sauté until spices are
absorbed by beef, stirring frequently. Add
coconut milk and salam leaf. Cover and simmer
until almost tender.

About 20 minutes before removing
from heat, add potato. Serve warm.
