Fragrant Dhall Rice

Ingredients

Seasoning:

1 tsp
1/2 tsp
1 tsp 

fragrant long gain rice, washed and drained
dhall, soaked for several hours
water
margarine
oil

 

cinnamon stick
cardamoms, lightly crushed
cumin
cloves
bay leaves
piece ginger, lightly bruised
turmeric powder
onion, finely sliced

 

salt
sugar
chicken stock granules 

Method:

Heat margarine and oil in a wok and fry ingredients (A) till fragrant. Add onions and sweat till they turn soft. Add ginger and turmeric powder and stir fry.

2.  Mix in rice and dhall and fry further. Add seasoning and water, mix thoroughly. Transfer ingredients to an electric rice cooker and cook until done.

3.  Serve with garnishing
