Asians are difficult to convince. All are no different. Years of
demonstrating microware techniques to us has reinforced the truth of a
personal maxim: 'Hearing is knowing, demonstrating is believing, but
tasting - now that is convincing!'
Abandon the wok? Never! scoffed the
doubting tai-tais. What about wok aroma? Closed door cooking chases away
all the fragrance of food. Have you heard the latest radiation
story.............
So I took them through the process, deliberately
choosing the most traditional Asian recipes - grilled pandan chicken,
Indonesian beef packets, Szechwan style prawns and a host of Chinese New
Year dishes, mother's home cooked recipes, restaurant favorites.......As
the online recipes progressed, we even cooked Chung (rice dumplings) in
the microwave oven.
Be cool.
All the cooking is done in the microwave oven cavity. A microwave
oven contains all the humidity, spray and heat. Nothing escapes into the
kitchen. you are cool, your kitchen is clean.
Be organized. There is really no mystery. All it requires
is a system in the preparation of ingredients. Each recipe in this
Asian-Recipes.com lists ingredients in groups. You are taken step by
step through preparation and cooking.
Be
adventurous. You'll be a great
modern chef skilled in the art of traditional Asians cooking. Put the
microware oven to full use. It's perfect for the braising of traditional
recipes, sensational for double-boiled foods.
Be innovative. Pamper your taste buds,
add or decrease herbs, or other ingredients as you become more familiar
with recipes. Experiment with new flavors and ingredients. A
comprehensive glossary and guide to buying and preparing ingredients is
given in this Asians-recipes site.
Stay
traditional! Herbal soups are included. Cook these soups in
your microwave oven for those who believe they can only be cooked the
traditional way. No one will be the wiser.
Be
healthier. Microwave cooking
means less oil, flavors and essential vitamin and salts are sealed in,
maintaining the richness of meats and the original color of vegetables.
Seafood remain firm and intact.
