Assam Bawal Hitam Nyonya Recipe

Ingredients:

Pounded:
30 g/1 oz

medium-sized pomfret/ bawal hitam, cleaned; cut each fish into 3 sections
assam, squeezed for juice; strained
water for squeezed assam
oil


dried chilies, seeded & boiled.
onions
serai/lemon grass, finely sliced
belacan

 

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Fry pounded ingredients till fragrant.

  2. Pour in assam juice. add salt and sugar to taste. Bring to the boil. Put in fish. Simmer for 3 minites.

  3. Dish up onto a serving plate. Serve with boiled white rice.
