Kuih Bongkong Nyonya Recipe
Nyonya Kuih

 


Ingredients A:

40 g
450 ml
2

Filling:
2 tbsp
4 pcs
5 pcs

rice flour
milk from 110 g coconut
pandan leaves
A Pinch of salt

gula melaka, grated finely and mixed with 3/4 tbsp sugar
banana leaves (20cm x 25 cm), scalded and dried
banana leaves (20cm x 7 cm), scalded and dried

Method:

  1. Mix Ingredients A well. Cook over low heat, stirring till it boils and thickens like starch and remove.

  2. take out pandan leaf. Scoop 2 tbsp rice paste onto the big piece of banana leaf. Spread it lightly.

  3. put 1 1/2 tsp gula melaka mixture (to taste) on paste. Spread. Cover sugar with another 2 tbsp rice paste. Top this with a small square pandan leaf.

  4. See diagram on how to fold banana leaf.

  5. Steam for 10 minutes over high heat to melt the sugar. Serve hot or chilled.
