Imitation Barbecued Pork Recipe
Vegetarian Diet

 


Ingredients

main:
680 g/1 1/2 lb
1 tbsp

Marinade:
2 tbsp
1 tbsp
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
60 ml/2 fl oz


raw wheat dough or gluten
groundnut oil


light soya sauce
sugar
5-spice powder
pepper
red coloring
water

 

 

 

 

Method:

  1. Shape wheat dough to resemble strips of pork fillet. Boil for 1/2 hour if preference is for soft dough and 1 hour if preference is for a chewy dough.

  2. Mix all ingredients for marinade.

  3. heat oil and fry marinade for a while. While still hot, pour over wheat dough and mix evenly. Marinade overnight.

  4. When serving, cut thinly slantwise. The outside will be red, the inside white, resembling Chinese barbecued pork.
