Sri Lankan Fish Pickle Recipe

Ingredients

450 g
250 ml
1 tbsp
1 1/4 tbsp
2 1/4 tbsp
1 1/4 tbsp
1 1/4 tbsp
1 tbsp

White fish slices
vinegar
tamarind pulp
salt
coriander powder
sugar
chili powder
turmeric powder
oil for frying

 

Method:

  1. Cut, dry fish and rub with turmeric powder and salt; deep fry.

  2. Soak tamarind pulp in vinegar and combine with the coriander powder, chili powder, sugar and bring to a boil. Adjust seasoning.

  3. Add fried fish slices and remove. Allow to cool; then store in earthenware jars.
