Indonesian Peanut Sauce for Skewered Meat Recipe
On-the-side Recipes

 

Ingredients

1 tbsp
fried peanuts, ground
water
coconut milk
cloves, ground
small onions, ground
red chilies, ground
Oil for frying
Javanese soya sauce
brown sugar
oil
shrimp paste, roasted
ginger, ground
salt
lemon juice

Method:

  1. Combine the ground ingredients (except peanuts) and pound together with shrimp paste.

  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil, fry the combined ingredients, stirring continuously. Add water. When it begins to boil add soya sauce, peanuts, sugar, lemon juice, coconut milk and salt. continue to stir until the sauce thickens.

Note : Use as a dip for skewered meat, as a meat sauce, or with eggs and cold vegetables.
