Chicken Stew Recipe

Ingredients

chicken, cut into pieces
dark soya sauce
a dash of pepper
potatoes, cut into pieces
carrots, cut into pieces
tomatoes, quartered
onion, quartered
shallots (bawang merah), finely pounded
small pieces of cinnamon (kayu manis) or a pinch of cinnamon powder
salt
sugar
water
oil
corn flour, mix with 6 tbsp water

Method:

  1. Marinated chicken with 1 tbsp of soya sauce & pepper.

  2. Heat a frying pan until very hot, add in 3 tbsp oil. Stir-fry the shallots, and then the chicken. Add in the potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and onion, and then the remaining ingredients, except the corn flour mixture. Bring to boil and then simmer until the chicken is tender. Thicken the stew with the corn flour mixture.
