Roasted Pork Trotter with Salted Vegie Soup Recipe

 



Ingredients:

500 g

Seasoning:

 

roasted pork trotters, chopped into chunky pieces
salted vegetable (kiam chye), cut into bite-sized pieces
and soaked for 1/2 an hour
sour plums
onions, quartered
tomatoes, kept whole
dried chilies, washed and kept whole
slices ginger
peppercorns, cracked
small lime, kept whole
water


sugar and salt to taste

Method:

  1. Bring water to boil and add in pork trotters, ginger and peppercorns. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. Add salted vegetable, tomatoes, onion, dried chilies, small limes and sour plums. Bring to boil again and cook uncovered for 20 minutes. Add seasoning to taste then dish out. Serve soup hot.
