Fried Beef and Horapa Recipe
(Pad Ho-ra-pa Kub Nua)

Ingredients:

2 tbsp & 1 tsp
750 g/1

vegetable oil
braising steak, thinly sliced
onions, peeled and sliced
garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
freshly chopped horapa leaves
fresh chilies, sliced
nam pla to taste
monosodium glutamate to taste
few chopped spring onions to garnish
 

 

Method:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a wok or frying pan (skillet), add the beef and fry until the juices are extracted from the meat. Stir twice and cook for about 3 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
     

  2. Heat the remaining oil in the pan, add the onions and garlic and fry over brisk heat until brown. Stir in the horapa, then return the beef to the pan. Add the chilies, fry for a further 1 minutes, then add nam pla and monosodium glutamate (msg) to taste.
     

  3. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with the chopped spring onions (scallions). Serve hot.
