Gingerade Recipe

 


Ingredients

100 g/4 oz
4
2.4 l/4 pints
600 ml/20 fl oz

coarsely grated fresh root ginger
lemons, very thinly sliced
boiling water
lemon juice
Icing sugar to taste
Crushed ice
Mint sprigs

Method:

  1. Place root ginger in a blender or a food processor fitted with a metal blade and process until pulped. Combine pulp and lemon slices in a large bowl. Add water, cover and let stand 5 minutes. Strain through muslin into a large pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled. Stir in lemon juice; sweeten with icing sugar. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish with mint sprigs. Makes 2 liters /3 1/2 pints.
